State Policy

Supporting the work of state I/DD officials for more than 50 years

State intellectual/developmental disabilities professionals develop policy on a wide-range of areas: waiting list management; service planning; service definitions and service standards; positive behavioral support practices; employment first; quality management; budgeting and rate setting; among much more. NASDDDS stays alert to state policy developments, communicates those developments across all states, and provides a platform for states to share ideas and learn from each other.

Information Dissemination

NASDDDS continuously scans its member states for new developments, innovative programs, and legislative and executive branch actions to disseminate among the members.

Community Services Reporter — the only newsletter in the country reporting exclusively on state policy and programmatic initiatives for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities is available to state agency members at no cost. If you are a state agency member and want to join the NASDDDS ListServ to receive the NASDDDS newsletters and other postings, please email karol snyder.

State News Briefs — a bi-weekly digest that covers state policy and program initiatives available to state members via the ListServ.
