2018 Directors Forum & Annual Conference

Beyond Compliance:
Creating a Culture of Quality
November 7 – 9, 2018
The Westin Alexandria Hotel
Alexandria, Virginia
CONFERENCE THEME
States I/DD agencies know how important it is to monitor supports for quality outcomes from services delivered, including the obligation to monitor the health and well-being of all people supported. As states continue to implement new HCBS regulations and improve systems to support home and community-based services, an opportunity also arises to build more integrated and holistic models of measuring the quality of supports. This shift is structured on a culture that moves away from quality being defined by the compliance of regulations to one that uses continuous improvement strategies using available data to anticipate system vulnerabilities, respond to data trends, and increase a state’s capabilities of balancing risk and quality of life with health and safety assurances
The conference will provide opportunities to:
- Learn about innovative strategies for improving compliance oversight and quality of services while ensuring the health and safety of individuals
- Learn from state colleagues about state quality initiative efforts
- Learn about how quality-driven goals can be translated into clear performance expectations
- Hear from federal leaders about HCBS quality direction and support
