2018 NCI® Staff Stability Survey Report

NASDDDS and HSRI are very pleased to announce the release of the  2018 NCI® Staff Stability Survey report. The NCI Staff Stability Survey examines the key dynamics of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) workforce in the U.S. such as turnover; vacancy rates; tenure; benefits offered; and wages for DSPs.  2018 saw a record 27 states participate, with 4,400 provider agencies responding to the survey.  The NCI Staff Stability report is now a go-to source of information on the experience of DSP’s in our field and is the only data source focused exclusively on the I/DD field.  This survey provides participating states a tested, data-informed understanding of the experiences of Direct Support Professionals working in the I/DD field – a critical driver within I/DD state systems that impact quality, access, and cost.

As a key partner in our field, we hope this report provides information useful to further your advocacy efforts across the U.S.
