The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued additional guidance to home health agencies in response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The memoranda were developed from frequently asked questions the agency has received about interacting with patients amid COVID-19. The guidance offers information to healthcare workers on the screening, treatment and transfer procedures to follow when interacting with patients.

On March 13th, President Trump addressed the nation and officially declared a federal emergency in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. This declaration will trigger the availability of a variety of resources to assist states in their efforts to contain and address the spread of COVID-19.
