Offender Treatment and Rehabilitation

A small percentage of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities commit crimes and require treatment and supervision by state I/DD systems. Although all persons are presumed to be competent, the needs and abilities of this group are diverse and individuals may not be able to fully comprehend legal proceedings and participate in their own defense.
